Drowned, They Said – A Metis History
Author: Michael Nelson
Drowned, They
Said – A Metis History, is the story of the author’s
return to the gravesite of his paternal grandparents. Buried near
a remote portage on the Batchewana River, in the Algoma Highlands
east of Lake Superior, the grave was as difficult to access as
the story of those who lay there.
Through text and images the Metis ancestors who held the story
in silence for so many years, find voice.
